Donna Butler is an Integrative Psychotherapist (UKCP reg) and a trauma specialist. She has 30 years’ experience working in the NHS – having spent 16 years working in acute services – A&E (ED)- first as a nurse, then once she retrained, worked as a psychotherapist, supporting staff from multi allied professions-including nurses, doctors, paramedics, police and fire service personnel.

Donna is also an Eye, Movement, De-sensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) trauma therapist.(EMDR Association Registered)

Donna was the founder of the HELP psychotherapy service for all BSUH NHS Trust staff, where she was lead for 12 years. The HELP service received ‘Best Practice’ recognition from NHS Employers for providing individual therapy, group de briefs and training sessions.

She has extensive experience of working for the Local Authorities and the courts, supporting individuals involved with child protection cases.

Donna is now a Consultant Psychotherapist and available to work for organisations – providing specialist training and de briefing following critical incidents.

She regularly presents on subjects of Mental Health at National  conferences.

Donna is co- author with Gill Hasson, for the Capstone / Wiley published book ‘Mental Health & Wellbeing in the Workplace ‘
